SAN ANTONIO, Texas - No. 22 Southwestern University and No. 18 Colorado College swept Centenary Saturday afternoon with consecutive 3-0 wins in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference volleyball action.
The Ladies fall to 1-24 and 0-8 in conference play as Southwestern moved to 18-8 (6-2) after losing to Trinity Saturday night. Colorado College improved to 19-8 and 6-2 in conference play, rebounding with the three-set win over Centenary after falling to Austin College, 3-0.
Centenary returns to action Sunday with a 10 a.m. contest against Trinity and a 12:30 match against Austin College.
Brooke Bahlinger and Sarah Irons led Centenary in the loss to Southwestern (25-12, 25-16, 25-9) with six kills apiece, while setter Beth Nuttall tallied a rare four kills. Bahlinger also recorded a game-high 15 digs.
Colorado College followed with a similar sweep (25-9, 25-12, 25-22), but the Ladies improved every set against the 18th-ranked Tigers.
Jesi Wilcox gathered a game-high 17 digs while Bahlinger grabbed 12. Irons topped the Ladies again with seven kills and committed just two errors for a .385 hitting mark.
Rachel Perkins and Bahlinger smashed five kills apiece.
