The Gents are 7-8 on the season and 6-2 at home. They are coming off a 1-2 weekend in Clarksville, Tennessee where they split games with Georgia State before falling in the final game to Austin Peay.
Centenary is led offensively by senior Cliff Shepard with a .390 clip and a team-best 23 hits and 18 RBI. Junior Derek Dalzell (.444 BA) and freshman Trey McGee (.385) had a solid weekend at the plate, improving their averages in just a few games played.
Leading the way on the bump for the Gents is righty Boone Whiting with a 1.99 ERA and a 1-0 record through 22.2 innings pitched. Righties Justin Kraft (5.32 ERA, 1-3) and David Benson (6.35 ERA, 2-2) will see action this weekend as probable starters for Centenary.
Binghamton of the America East Conference enters the series with a 4-9 record and a 4-7 mark on the road, having not played a home game all season. The Bearcats are coming off a 5-0 loss to Lehigh on March 21.
Dave Ciocchi leads the way offensively with a .400 clip, 22 hits, and 13 RBI. On the mound, James Giulietti owns a 1.54 ERA and a 1-1 record and is set to start Game 1 of the series, while Mike Augliera (11.40 ERA, 0-1) and Jay Lynch (7.98 ERA, 1-1) are projected to pitch Game 2 and 3, respectively.
Following the weekend series, Centenary will travel to SEC Arkansas for two games beginning on Tuesday at 6:35 pm.
