MACOMB, Ill. �- After getting beat 10-0 in the first game, the Centenary softball team bounced back and split Friday afternoon's Summit League doubleheader with a 4-1 victory over Western Illinois in the night cap.�
� Game One
Sophomore pitcher Jessica Bock got the start, but left after the first inning due to an injury. Classmate Lauren Highsmith and freshman Vicki Honeycutt came in relief, but gave up 10 runs in five innings.
In the fifth inning with WIU throwing a no-hitter, freshman Katie Matthews came up singled. The Ladies also had two others reach base, but were both due to errors early in the game.
� Game Two
Sophomore Bonnie Matak had two hits and senior Emerald Doria knocked in two RBIs in the Ladies victory. Both of Doria's RBIs came in the first inning when she doubled to the right center field gap.
Freshman Hillary Phillips got the win after throwing a complete game four hitter and she also held the Westerwinds to one run. The Odessa, Texas, native struck out three batters, which helped her pick-up win number 10.
The Ladies and Westerwinds will finish their series on Saturday at 12 p.m., but the due to weather the game time could be changed. Live stats will be available on www.WIUAthletics.com.�
