SHREVEPORT �- For their outstanding efforts at The Summit League Championship, freshman Katie Matthews and sophomore Bonnie Matak were named to the all-tournament team after hitting a combined .300, knocking in a run and committing no errors in two games.
Matak on the season batted .248 and played in 54-of-55 games, while leading the team with two triples. The Richmond, Texas, native was also one of only two Ladies to steal over 10 bases, as she swiped 11 on the year.
Matthews, meanwhile, cranked six balls over the fence, which was good for third on the team. She was also fourth on the team in doubles with five and committed only one error the entire 2009 campaign.
Centenary will begin the 2010 season on Feb. 12 in The Ladies Softball Tournament.
