Shreveport - The Centenary women's soccer team was blanked 4-0 by the East Texas Baptist University Tigers in a non-conference contest on Tuesday night at Atkins Field.
The Ladies (1-6-1) fell behind 2-0 at halftime and the Tigers (4-1-3) added a pair of goals in the second half to cruise to the road win. Centenary could not build upon its first victory of the season from last Friday, a 1-0 shutout win over Millsaps College at home.
ETBU dominated the match, finishing with a 19-1 advantage in shots and took four corner kicks to Centenary's two. Freshman F/MF Morgan Stancliff (Pensacola, Fla.) made a season-high 11 saves in her 90 minutes in the net and ETBU GK Kameron Tatum, making her first appearance of the season, made one saves and also went the distance.
Savannah Woods started the scoring for the Tigers with an early unassisted goal in the seventh minute for a 1-0 lead and Grace Shurley found the net for a 2-0 lead, assisted by Ryan McClain in the 41st minute.
Mallory Duncan scored an unassisted goal just over a minute into the second half (45:16) to make it 3-0 and Shurley scored again in the 77th minute to make it 4-0.
Centenary hits the road this weekend to open Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play with contests at McMurry University (Friday) in Abilene, Texas and Schreiner University (Sunday) in Kerrville, Texas.
