Ladies Set To Open Conference Play On The Road
The Centenary women's soccer team opens Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play on Friday evening as the Ladies will face the McMurry University War Hawks in a match set for 5 PM inside Wilford Moore Stadium.

Abilene, Texas- The Centenary women's soccer team opens Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play on Friday evening as the Ladies will face the McMurry University War Hawks in a match set for 5 PM inside Wilford Moore Stadium.

The Ladies (1-6-1) were blanked 4-0 by the East Texas Baptist University Tigers in a non-conference contest on Tuesday night at home while the War Hawks (2-3-1) edged Howard Payne University on the road on Sept. 18. Centenary is 0-1 on the road this season and McMurry is 0-1 at home. The War Hawks won last season's meeting, 3-0, in Shreveport.
Freshman F/MF Morgan Stancliff (Pensacola, Fla.) made a season-high 11 saves in her 90 minutes in the net against ETBU and ranks fourth in the conference with 27 saves and has shared time with freshman GK Gracie Rellin (Haughton, La.), who has started the first five matches of the season and is the conference leader in saves (31).
Senior D/MF Kylie Zeller (Denham Springs, La.) and senior MF Aubrey Burkhardt (Bossier City, La.) share the team lead in goals with two each and points (4) and senior D Madi Cooley (Natchez, Miss.) and sophomore F/MF Jenevieve Willis (Bossier City, La.) are tied for the team lead in assists with one each. Senior MF/F Lowrey Lain (Haughton, La.) has also scored one goal this season.
The Ladies will face the Schreiner University Mountaineers on Sunday at NOON in Kerrville, Texas.
