The Gents (2-2-2) were on the road twice last weekend as they fell 4-2 at Hardin-Simmons University on Thursday in Abilene, Texas and rebounded with a 2-2 tie against the Howard Payne University Yellow Jackets on Saturday evening in Brownwood, Texas. The Tigers (4-3) defeated Austin College at home on Thursday by a score of 3-2 and are 3-2 at home this season.
Senior GK Sam Brocato (Leesville, La.) is off to a fine start in the net for the Gents as he ranks second in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference in saves (32), and is ninth in GAA (1.67). He owns a conference-leading three saves and has a .762 save % to rank sixth in the league. Brocato is tied for 21st nationally in shutouts and is tied for 42nd in the country in saves.
Centenary's aggressive offense currently ranks first in the conference in shots, points, goals, corner kicks, and goals per game and ranks second in assists. Junior F Carter Webb (Flower Mound, Texas), sophomore D Dylan Clark (Allen, Texas), and senior F Connor Buche (College Station, Texas) are tied for the team lead in goals with two each and are in a tie for seventh in the league. Junior MF Jacob Ramsey (Baton Rouge, La.) ranks in a tie for second in the conference in assists (3) and is tied for ninth in points (5).
Last Meeting: The Gents scored a pair of goals late in the second half to break a 1-1 tie on their way to a 3-1 victory over the Tigers last season as the Maroon and White now leads the all-time series 5-2-3.
