Gents Set To Face Ozarks On Friday For Senior Night

Centenary will honor its 2025 senior class in a ceremony before the match – F Gabriel Aragon (Forney, Texas), GK Sam Brocato (Leesville, La.), F Connor Buche (College Station, Texas), GK Casey Clemo (Forney, Texas), D Aaron Gonzales (Atascocita, Texas), and MF Brandon Guevara (Henderson, Texas). Centenary wraps up the weekend versus Hendrix College on Sunday at 2 PM.
The Gents (6-5-2, 4-2 SCAC) went unbeaten last weekend in conference play, edging LeTourneau University, 2-1, on Friday in Longview, Texas and capped the perfect weekend with an impressive 4-1 victory over the Austin College 'Roos on Sunday at home. Centenary has won a season-high three matches in a row.
The Eagles (3-8-2, 2-4 SCAC) split a pair of matches at home last weekend, defeating McMurry University 3-1 and falling 2-1 to Schreiner University on Sunday. The Eagles are 1-4 on the road this season while the Gents are 4-1-1 at home.
Centenary, which has outscored its last three opponents 13-2, scored three or more goals in a match for the fourth time this season with the four goals scored against the 'Roos on Sunday and held an opponent to one goal or less for the seventh time this season.
The Gents now have four conference wins which is the most in a single season since joining the SCAC prior to the 2012 season. The Gents' previous high for SCAC wins in a season was three accomplished four times (2016, 2019, 2020, and 2024).
Centenary enters Friday's match as the top offensive team in the conference, ranking first in goals scored (32), points (82), and goals per game (2.46). The Gents are tied for 34th nationally in goals scored, tied for 42nd nationally in goals per game, and tied for 58th in points. Their 17 goals scored in conference play are also first in the league and they rank second in the conference in assists (18) and are third in shots.
Junior MF Jacob Ramsey (Baton Rouge, La.) is in the midst of a superb season as he is tied for first in the conference in assists (5), tied for fourth in points (13), and is tied for eighth in the league in goals (4). Ramsey shares the team lead in goals with junior F Carter Webb (Flower Mound, Texas).
Aragon and junior D Aidan Miller (Keller, Texas) are next with three each and five players each have two goals – Buche, junior D Lochlan Scott (Glasgow, Scotland), sophomore MF Angel Montoya (Kyle, Texas), junior F Fernando Santos (Bridgeport, Texas), and junior D Dylan Clark (Allen, Texas). Scott and freshman MF Marco Peterson (Bedford, Texas) are tied for second on the team in assists with two each and nine players have one assist.
Clemo, who has started the last four matches, was named the SCAC Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week on Monday after he recorded 14 saves last weekend. Clemo has 26 saves this season, leads the conference in saves per game, and tallied a season-high in the win over Austin College. He also ranks fifth in save percentage (.788) and seventh in GAA (1.56).

Just two Ozarks players hail from the state of Arkansas.
Ozarks went 6-10-3 and 3-7-1 in SCAC play last season.

The Gents are eying a berth into next month's conference tournament as the 2025 SCAC Men's Soccer Tournament returns to a six-team format for the first time since the 2020-21 COVID-19 shortened season. The tournament will be held the first week of November at the Round Rock Multipurpose Complex in Round Rock, Texas. Quarterfinal matches will be contested on Thursday, Nov. 6, the semifinal matches on Friday, Nov. 7 and the championship match will be played Sunday, Nov. 9.
The Gents, picked to finish eighth in the preseason poll, are currently alone in fourth place in the conference standings and their four wins are tied for the most in the league with Colorado College (4-0-2) and Texas Lutheran University (4-1-1).
