LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – For the second-straight time and for the third time in four years, a Diamond Gent has received the first Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week of the season. For 2019, allowing just one run in two starts and nine innings of work last week, sophomore Austin Warner garnered Conference Pitcher of the Week honors Monday night, February 11.
Warner (1-0) started the season opener last Monday against Louisiana College, a Centenary 6-2 win. In two innings of work, Warner allowed just one hit while striking out three. In Saturday's 8-1 win against East Texas Baptist, he limited the Tigers high-powered offense to just one run and four hits while striking out two for the complete game victory.
Centenary (2-2) returns to action Tuesday night, February 12, at Millsaps. First pitch in Jackson, Mississippi, is set for 4 p.m.
