Gents Fall At Tulane In Exhibition On Tuesday

New Orleans - The Centenary men's basketball team fell 95-66 to Tulane University in an exhibition contest on Tuesday evening at Avron B. Fogelman Arena in the Devlin Fieldhouse.
The Gents held a 40-39 lead at halftime over the Green Wave in the first meeting between the two teams Nov. 19, 2010.
"Credit to Coach Hunter and his staff," said Centenary head coach J.A. Anglin.
"I have always had a great deal of respect for his teams going back to my days as an assistant in the Sun Belt Conference. Tulane is going to win a lot of games this season."
"I am very proud of our effort tonight. We competed with a very good Tulane team for 30 minutes. Happy with our effort on the glass in the first half."
"All in all, it was a good experience for us. Great preparation for our trip to Georgia next weekend. We have a long way to go but today was a good first step."
Centenary finished an impressive 14-17 from the free-throw line (82 %), made 12 treys, grabbed 28 rebounds, and received 31 points from its bench.
Junior F Dontarius Coleman (Gibsland, La.) led all scorers with 20 points in just 25 minutes played as he was 7-13 from the floor and 5-10 from 3-point range. Senior G Quentin Beverly (Katy, Texas) added 12 points and freshman G/F Kane Broussard (Iowa, La.) scored nine as he hit a trio of treys.
The Gents will begin their regular season on Friday, Nov. 7 at 6 PM in the Berry College Tournament in Mount, Berry, Ga. and face Pfeiffer University on Saturday, Nov. 8 at NOON in their second game of the weekend.
