Gents Face Cru On Tuesday Night
The Centenary men's basketball team is back in action on Tuesday evening as the Gents will face the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor Cru in a non-conference contest set for 5:30 PM inside the Mayborn Campus Center.

The Gents (0-4) aim for their first win of the young season after falling to the Arlington Baptist University Patriots 74-71 at home last Tuesday. Centenary has played a tough pre-conference schedule with its other three losses coming to Berry College (77-55), Pfeiffer University (78-77), and ETBU (73-67).
The Cru (1-2) blasted Belhaven University 117-80 on Saturday at home for their first win of the season after losses to Trinity University and LeTourneau University. UMHB is 1-1 at home this season while Centenary is 0-1 on the road. The Cru are 2-0 all-time versus the Gents with the last meeting between coming in the 2011-12 season when UMHB defeated Centenary by a score of 93-57 in Belton.
The Gents are averaging 67.5 PPG as a team, shooting 40.2 % from the floor, 71.2 % from the FT line, and 21.5 % from beyond the arc. Centenary averages 36.0 rebounds/game and 9.0 assists/game. Centenary ranks in the top five in the conference in FT %, blocked shots, scoring defense, FG % defense, and 3-point FG % defense.
Three Gents are averaging double figures - senior G Quentin Beverly (Katy, Texas) – 14.8 PPG, senior G Craig Collier (North Little Rock, Ark.) – 14.5 PPG, and sophomore G Nicholas Addison (Cedar Hill, Texas) – 11.5 PPG.
Freshman G Jaden Braden (Natchitoches, La.) is next at 9.5 PPG and freshman G/F Kane Broussard (Iowa, La.) is averaging 8.8 PPG. Addison (7.5/game) is the Gents' leading rebounder this season.
Broussard scored a season-high 17 points for the Gents against Arlington Baptist on Tuesday and added 13 rebounds for an impressive double-double. He finished 6-14 from the floor with three treys and went 2-2 at the FT line with three steals, two assists, and a pair of blocked shots. Addison and Collier each scored 13, Braden had 11, and Beverly finished with 10.
Beverly and Collier are both top 20 scorers in the conference and Addison ranks 26th and is tied for sixth in rebounding while Broussard is 14th. Addison is the league leader in FG % (71.0) and he is also tied for ninth in steals (2.0/game) and tied for 15th in blocked shots. Collier is eighth in FT % (83.3) and Braden is tied for 10th (81.8). Broussard and Beverly are tied for 10th place in 3-point FG made (eight made and 2.0/game).
Centenary opens Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play next Tuesday, Dec. 2 at LeTourneau University (5:30 PM).
