Centenary will wrap up the weekend and its regular season on Sunday versus the nationally-ranked University of St. Thomas Celts at NOON in Houston.
The Gents (10-13, 8-6 SCAC) enter Friday's game against the Tigers (10-13, 8-6 SCAC) winners in eight of their last 11 games while Colorado College is 5-3 in its last eight games and is 6-3 at home this season.
Centenary, 5-6 on the road, had its season-high six-game winning streak snapped last Saturday as the Gents fell 68-61 to the University of the Ozarks Eagles on Senior Day in the Gold Dome. The Tigers split a pair of home games last weekend, losing to Concordia University 95-92 and beating Texas Lutheran University 75-56.
Centenary has clinched a berth into next weekend's SCAC Tournament in Conway, Ark. The Gents have secured the No. 2 seed in the Blue Division and will face the Gold No. 3 at NOON on Friday, Feb. 27. The top six teams in the conference (top three in each division) will qualify for the event, which will be held Feb. 27 through March 1 with Hendrix College as the host. The winner of that event will earn the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
The Tigers are currently tied with Schreiner University for the No. 3 spot in the Gold Division and split the season series against them. Schreiner finishes the regular season at home this weekend against TLU and Concordia. Centenary will face either Colorado College or Schreiner next Friday in the opening game of the SCAC Tournament.
*LeTourneau (12-2), Centenary (8-6), St. Thomas (14-0), and Concordia (12-2) have all clinched tournament berths. Either Austin College (5-9) or the University of Dallas (5-9) will secure a berth as the No. 3 seed from the Blue Division along with either Colorado College or Schreiner as the Gold No. 3. Dallas swept Austin College this season and holds the tiebreaker. Austin College and Dallas both finish the season on the road at Hendrix and Ozarks this weekend with the 'Roos in Conway on Friday against the Warriors while the Crusaders are in Clarksville against the Eagles and then on Saturday the teams switch locations.
