Jaden Braden And Kane Broussard Named To SCAC All-Freshman Team
Freshman G Jaden Braden (Natchitoches, La.) and freshman G/F Kane Broussard (Iowa, La.) were all named to the 2026 SCAC All-Freshman Team, it was announced on Saturday.
Conway, Ark. - Freshman G Jaden Braden (Natchitoches, La.) and freshman G/F Kane Broussard (Iowa, La.) were all named to the 2026 SCAC All-Freshman Team, it was announced on Saturday.
Braden and Broussard each also garnered Honorable-Mention recognition and the rookies earned two of the five coveted spots on the prestigious All-Freshman Team.
Braden started all 27 games and averaged 13.0 PPG, 3.8 assists/game, 2.2 rebounds/game, and shot 44.9 % from the floor and 70.3 % from the free-throw line. He reached double figures 20 times this season and in 13 of his last 15 games.
He was in the top five in the SCAC in assists/game and 117th nationally and top 10 in assist/turnover ratio and minutes played. He had 99 total assists, good for 108th nationally, entering the postseason and was a top 20 scorer in the conference in the regular season.
Broussard averaged 11.3 PPG and 6.0 rebounds/game and shot 41.5 % overall, 38.6 % from beyond the arc, and 77.8 % from the FT line. He reached double figures in scoring 14 times this season.
Broussard made a Centenary men's basketball program record ten 3-point baskets in a 94-64 blowout victory over the Howard Payne University Yellow Jackets on Jan. 20 at home as he finished with a season-high 34 points and was 10-15 from beyond the arc. The previous program record for made 3's in a game was nine and was accomplished by AJ Hall on Jan. 12, 2022 against Southwestern University in the Gold Dome. Broussard's 10 treys are the most by a SCAC player in a game this season.
